Welcome.
Hello and welcome;
A quick warning – I have lots to say on everything; because education is at the heart of all that you see in the world around you! Education, and the path of schooling (not equivalent to education) is the means by which we “teach” our children values, behaviours, interactions with the world, priorities, habits, and much much more. The way the world is, is a direct result of the way we educate or school our youth. If you want to see any kind of lasting change in the world; we need to question what it is we are teaching in our schools, by the way we school, and the purpose of schooling.
I am going to assert that whether you know it or not, whether you see it or not, and whether you agree with it or not, we have all been hurt by the way we were schooled, trained, raised, and taught. This blog is going to support you in questioning where your genius has been thwarted – this is a difficult thing to accept and generally brings up much emotion – very negative, angry, desperate emotions. If you are willing, those emotions can guide you to find and nurture your genius where it was not before. You can become all that you used to dream of becoming; in some form. You can recreate a joyful and fulfilling life beyond what you imagine yourself capable of.
This is hard to hear for many, this would mean alot of pain has been for nothing. This would mean that the dreams they gave up on long ago, or the imagination they stopped cherishing, or the opportunities they passed up were for no good reason. That is the point. There were mistakes made, and we were innocently led astray from our potential and our happiness.
If what I say makes you angry; I regret this, and I tell you there is hope to change that, to heal that.
If you have passed the hurt onto your children; you can heal that as well, make up for it, forgive it, and start with fresh opportunity and learned wisdom.
All past hurts can be used as information for creating a new and improved version of our life, and the same for our children. By extension, we can do the same for all children, and all humanity!
“The difference between what we do, and what we are capable of doing, would suffice to solve most of the world’s problems”
- Mahatma Gandhi.
See – it’s not a “pie in the sky” thinking; it is a real power and possibility we can tap into – if ONLY we could learn to BELIEVE it! It all starts with belief!
so, next blog… Changing beliefs to match what is possible.

Your blog, Marilyn, is a blessing. I’ve been feeling for quite a long time that our education system needs a major transformation. It looks like such a huge task. And the school system is probably the most rigid organ in our society. Where do we start?
Wow, thats a really cleevr way of thinking about it!
